This depicts a Marcoon Necromancer casting a Turn Corpse spell (pg. 71) in order to defend against two Rana.

Rana are a class of simple undead and easy to turn for any necromancer. The two unfortunate corpses in this illustration are a Rathor and an Arathian (although it's hard to tell 'cause half his face is gone).
